Every step of the process is designed to be a memorable and luxurious experience, ensuring you and your partner feel completely at ease as we craft a suit that is as exceptional as the moment itself.

The Process

The journey to your custom wedding suit begins with a personal consultation at our Chiltern Street store in London. During this one-hour appointment, we explore your style, fit preferences, and fabric choices, allowing us to design a suit that reflects your individuality. For inspiration, we encourage you to bring along any reference imagery, though it’s not required.

At Casely-Hayford, we offer two tiers of construction—made-to-measure, and handmade—each tailored to your vision and investment. Our extensive collection of over 3,000 fabrics, sourced from the most esteemed UK, Italian, and Japanese mills, provides limitless possibilities. Together, we’ll refine every detail before beginning the creation of your custom wedding attire.

The Lounge Suit

Effortlessly blending tradition with modernity, the two- or three-piece lounge suit is ideal for a daytime wedding. With its understated elegance, the lounge suit offers timeless style, available in both single- and double-breasted designs, with options for a waistcoat. For those seeking a more directional aesthetic, our double-breasted jackets and signature pieces—like the double-breasted shawl Lucien waistcoat or Hendrix shawl lapel suit—bring a modern edge to this classic choice. Favourites among international icons, these designs ensure you stand apart with subtle distinction.

When choosing fabrics, consider the setting of your wedding. Clean or textured blues offer versatility, while Casely-Hayford’s signature green or sand hues bring a distinctive flair to destination weddings. For countryside weddings, checks and tweeds evoke a sense of refined rusticity.

The Tuxedo

For evening weddings or those seeking a truly elegant affair, nothing compares to the sophistication of black tie. The tuxedo, with its rich, luxurious fabrics like barathea, velvet, and mohair, exudes timeless class. Often worn with a bow tie, the tuxedo strikes a balance between the grandeur of morning dress and the streamlined lounge suit.

Our tuxedos feature either a peaked or shawl lapel, and while black wool barathea remains a classic choice, statement-making colours bring a modern twist. Midnight blue or black trousers provide the perfect contrast, ensuring a sleek and debonair look, ideal for the understated yet bold groom.

Morning Dress

Morning dress is the most traditional and formal choice for a British wedding. Elegant and refined, it is favoured for daytime ceremonies and evokes a sense of heritage and class. Comprising a *morning coat*, contrasting waistcoat, and striped trousers, this ensemble is a timeless nod to British sartorial tradition.

At Casely-Hayford, we also offer more modern interpretations of morning dress. For a fresh twist, opt for our ‘morning grey’ design, where the coat, waistcoat, and trousers are cut from the same grey cloth. For a directional groom, our midnight navy version offers a contemporary yet formal option, blending heritage with a forward-thinking aesthetic.

Timings

Given the extensive customisation involved in creating your perfect suit, we recommend booking your consultation at least four months before the wedding. Our made-to-measure suits typically require 8 to 10 weeks, while handmade suits take approximately 10 to 12 weeks. Allowing 3 to 4 months provides sufficient time for any necessary adjustments and coordination with your groomsmen and ensures that every detail is perfect.

If you’re working within a tighter timeframe, don’t hesitate to contact us, and we will make every effort to accommodate your needs. For more information speak to our style advisor to book an appointment or visit our Chiltern Street store in London.

We also offer a bespoke service for groomsmen and the father of the groom, ensuring a harmonious look for the entire wedding party. Our expert tailors will guide you in making stylistic decisions that complement the groom’s attire while maintaining individuality. Each suit is crafted with the same attention to detail, creating a unified yet distinctive aesthetic for your special day.
