Business Suits

A well-tailored business suit is more than just attire—it’s your armour in the professional world. At Casely-Hayford, we understand that a business suit must balance style, professionalism, and comfort, instilling confidence in every step. Our aim is to craft garments that speak quietly yet powerfully, creating a silhouette that catches the eye without needing to shout. Each suit is designed to exude self-assurance and style, ensuring you are always dressed for success.

  • The Process

Your journey to the perfect business suit begins with a personalised consultation at our Chiltern Street store in London. During this session, we explore your style preferences, fit, and fabric options. At Casely-Hayford, we offer three levels of craftsmanship—made-to-measure, semi-bespoke, and bespoke—ensuring that you find the level of customisation that suits your needs.

For business attire, two timeless styles dominate: the single-breasted suit, featuring a notch or peak lapel and typically finished with two front buttons, and the double-breasted six-button suit with a peak lapel. Over the course of the one-hour consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to choose from over 3,000 fabrics sourced from the finest UK, Italian, and Japanese mills. Once we’ve finalised the details, the process of creating your custom business suit begins.

  • Construction

When you opt for a Casely-Hayford custom business suit, the level of craftsmanship varies depending on your selection. Our made-to-measure service offers precision tailoring using our house block, customised to your unique measurements. For those seeking a higher level of craftsmanship, our bespoke service offers fully handmade suits cut from an exclusive pattern designed specifically for you. Our semi-bespoke option sits comfortably between these two, combining elements of both to deliver a suit tailored with excellence and efficiency.

Throughout this process, our goal is to ensure that your suit offers the perfect blend of comfort and confidence, allowing you to navigate the workplace with ease.

(discover more about this process by clicking here). Our tailored suits are cut to give you both confidence and comfort and the process is a close collaboration between you and your tailor.

Whilst Bespoke men’s business suits are our top level of finish (see our bespoke page for more information), where each garment is fully-handmade and cut using a unique pattern, our semi-bespoke service sits comfortably in between the two tiers.

  • Signature Cut

The Casely-Hayford house cut is a defining feature of our tailored business suits. Characterised by a sloping shoulder accented with a rope, a full chest, and a waisted silhouette, our suits are designed to enhance your physique while maintaining a sleek and modern English style.

Key features include a high armhole for greater mobility, full sleeves with soft shoulders, and minimal padding, creating a sharp, clean line. Though we honour the original House cut designed by our founder Joe Casely-Hayford OBE, we tailor each suit to complement your unique figure, ensuring the perfect balance between tradition and innovation.

  • Fabric

Understanding the rigours of daily business wear, we offer a wide selection of fabrics that balance durability with refined style. We’ve hand-picked high-twist yarns that are breathable, anti-crease, and mid-weight, ensuring your suit performs year-round in all business environments. Our fabric range spans everything from plain weaves to checks, stripes, herringbones, birdseyes, and textured options, each selected to meet the demands of modern professionals.

At Casely-Hayford, our goal is to find the ideal fabric that not only complements your personal style but also enhances your daily performance. Whether you need a suit for boardroom meetings or frequent travel, book an appointment to explore the options that suit your needs.

  • Timings

A custom-tailored business suit is an essential piece in any professional’s wardrobe, serving as a statement of intent and professionalism. Our made-to-measure process typically takes 7 to 8 weeks, while semi-bespoke and bespoke suits require 8 to 10 weeks to craft to perfection.

If you’re working within a tight schedule, please reach out, and we will do our best to accommodate your timeline. For further details or to book an appointment, visit our Chiltern Street store in London.
