The Process
Your journey begins at our Chiltern Street store in London, where we’ll guide you through a one-hour consultation to discuss your personal style, fit preferences, and fabric choices. While not essential, bringing along imagery that inspires you can help us create a design that resonates with your vision. For a perfect fit, we take up to 40 meticulous measurements to craft an individual pattern tailored exclusively to you. This pattern is retained for future commissions, ensuring every tuxedo we make is as flawless as the first.
Our dinner suits are available in three levels of craftsmanship—made-to-measure, semi-bespoke, and bespoke—offering a range of options that suit both your preferences and investment. Choose from three distinctive black-tie styles: the classic dinner suit, the jacquard dinner jacket, and the smoking jacket. With over 3,000 fabrics to select from, sourced from the finest UK, Italian, and Japanese mills, your tuxedo will embody luxury in every detail.

The Classic Tuxedo
Timeless and elegant, the classic tuxedo is the epitome of black-tie dressing. Perfect for transitioning from day to night, this iconic piece is a worthwhile investment for weddings and formal events alike. Most commonly crafted from luxurious English black or midnight blue barathea, the dinner jacket is finished with a contrasting silk facing on the lapel, elevating its sophistication. For a more traditional look, opt for grosgrain silk with its subtle ribbed texture, offering an understated alternative to the sheen of classic silk.
Whether you choose a single or double-breasted design, the classic tuxedo is the foundation of any black-tie wardrobe. With subtle yet impactful detailing, it exudes refinement while allowing for personal expression.

The Jacquard Dinner Jacket
For those seeking a bold statement, the Jacquard dinner jacket is a signature piece in the Casely-Hayford collection. Crafted from sumptuous blends of wool and silk, this patterned alternative to the traditional black barathea tuxedo is an ideal choice for grooms and those looking to make a sartorial impact. Each jacquard jacket is designed with your personal style and event in mind, offering an array of colours and patterns that reflect your individuality.
While jacquard jackets typically forego silk facings, opting instead to let the fabric speak for itself, black silk lapels are a stylish option that pairs elegantly with a classic black barathea trousers. This refined combination allows the jacket to shine, creating a sophisticated and celebratory ensemble.

The Smoking Jacket
Perhaps the most debonair option of all, the smoking jacket is synonymous with effortless elegance. Cut from plush velvet, it adds rich texture and gravitas to any formal look. Traditionally available in midnight blue, black, burgundy, or wine, the smoking jacket’s luxurious fabric makes it a standout choice for black-tie affairs.
Our smoking jackets are classically styled with a shawl or peak lapel in matching velvet, though for darker hues, a contrast silk facing adds a modern twist. Paired with a black barathea trouser, the smoking jacket achieves a perfect balance, allowing its sumptuous fabric to take centre stage.
